Today Counts
Privacy Policy — Today Counts
Effective date: 2026-09-15
Last updated: 2026-09-15
Today Counts is a habit tracker. It is built so that the thing you actually care about — what your habits are and whether you did them — never reaches us. This policy explains what that means precisely, including the parts that are not "nothing".
Who we are
Today Counts is provided by Greenvine Cloud LLC, a Colorado limited liability company ("we", "us"). The Apple Developer account (team AB95YAD75P) renders the name GreenVine Cloud LLC; the registered form above is the one legal text uses.
Contact: support@todaycounts.app
No mailing address is published here, by owner default across these apps — the entity name plus the support address is the contact route. An address is supplied only where a form makes it mandatory (App Store Connect trader / DSA fields, a registrar, a payment processor).
Your habits stay yours
We operate no server, and we have no account system. There is nothing to sign up for, and we could not look up "your data" if we wanted to, because we hold none of it.
Your habits, schedules, reminder times and completion history are stored on your device. Deleting the app removes them.
In this version, that is the whole story: nothing is synced anywhere. The app contains iCloud mirroring that is switched off for v1.0 (ff_icloud_sync), so no habit data leaves your device at all. If a future version turns it on, habits would be mirrored to your own private iCloud database — controlled by your Apple Account, governed by Apple's privacy policy, and unreadable by us — and this policy will be updated before that ships, not after.
Reminders are local notifications. They are scheduled on your device and are never sent through a server of ours or anyone else's. The notification text can include a habit's name, so it stays on-device.
What we do collect
Two things leave your device to third parties. Neither contains your habits, and neither identifies you.
There are no product analytics. We do not record which screens you open, what you tap, or how often you use the app.
1. Crash and error diagnostics (Sentry)
When the app crashes or hits an unexpected error, we receive a technical report: the error, the code path, the device model and OS version. The app also sends diagnostic log entries — the same technical record of what the app was doing — which is what makes a bug reproducible rather than merely visible. Log entries describe app operations, never the content of your habits.
Sentry's "send default PII" option is off, and we never attach your identity to a report. Sentry's Session Replay — which would record your screen, and therefore your habit names — is explicitly disabled.
2. Apple Ads attribution (Apple)
If you installed Today Counts after seeing one of our App Store ads, the app asks Apple which of our campaigns brought you. Apple's answer contains campaign numbers, a country, and whether the install was new or a reinstall. It contains no identifier for you or your device.
This uses Apple's first-party AdServices attribution, which is why the app never shows the "Ask App not to Track" prompt — there is nothing to track. We deliberately do not request the detailed payload, which would require that prompt.
What we never collect
No account, name, or email address. No location. No contacts, photos, calendar, or health data. No advertising identifier (IDFA), and no cross-app or cross-site tracking of any kind. We do not sell or share your personal information, we do not serve ads inside the app, and nothing we collect is joined to data from other companies for advertising.
Purchases
Today Counts offers a one-time purchase to unlock unlimited habits. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details — we only see whether this device holds the entitlement.
Who processes data for us
| Processor | What they receive | Their policy |
|---|---|---|
| Apple | Purchase processing and ad attribution. (Not your habits: iCloud mirroring is off in this version.) | apple.com/legal/privacy |
| Functional Software, Inc. d/b/a Sentry | Crash and error diagnostics | sentry.io/privacy |
How long it is kept
Crash-diagnostic retention: 90 days — Sentry's default. App Store Connect analytics (Apple's own, not ours): retained by Apple, per Apple. There is no product-analytics retention period, because there are no product analytics. Your habits are kept until you delete them or delete the app. They are not stored anywhere else.
Children
Today Counts is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your choices
- Cloud mirroring: not applicable in this version — nothing is synced.
- Delete everything on the device: Settings → Delete All Habits, or delete the app.
- Ask us anything, including what we hold: email support@todaycounts.app. Realistically the answer is "nothing that identifies you", and this policy explains why.
Where the app is available
Today Counts is offered in every App Store territory except the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland (144 of 175 territories). Greenvine Cloud LLC has no EU trader or representative, so those regions are deselected deliberately rather than by oversight.
Because of that exclusion this policy does not set out GDPR or UK GDPR rights, a lawful basis, or a controller identity. Adding any of those territories requires this section to be written first — the exclusion is what makes its absence correct.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will update the effective date above and, where the change affects what leaves your device, say so in the app.
